Simon has over 35 years of experience working in investments, pensions, and protection, including 25 years in the Private Client Department at Womble Bond Dickinson Law Firm, where he worked alongside tax, legal, and investment professionals. He specialises in identifying the right people to address clients’ challenges relating to their estates and personal affairs. While he interacts with the firm’s clients, he does not provide advice.

The best gift I’ve ever received is:

Best useful gift : a pair of decent binoculars which I use when I visit the Highlands in October each year. Best ever gift : my wife, who was sent to me from the stars.

When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:

A scoop of locally made vanilla ice cream.

If I could be any fictional character, I would be:

I am not adventurous enough to ponder anything fictional. My head is too heavily lodged in the present, I am afraid. Me being a head keeper on a top estate or coach at GB rowing is fiction, even though the characters exist. Does this count?

On an ideal weekend, you can find me:

Either on the river, rowing with Tyne Rowing Club at Newburn; in the countryside enjoying field sports, or on Beadnell Beach (or the Craster Arms).
